The importance of integrating graphic design into websites has increased as a result of its favorable appeal and usability. It is difficult to imagine a website with only plain text and no design. Such sites would surely prove to be a bore for the visitors. Graphic designs add the glamour quotient as well as make a website more interesting and communicative.

There are several graphic design companies in LA rendering quality graphic design services. The best graphic design companies provide a full range of top-quality, yet cost effective graphic design services including advertising, development of image, web development, 3D and 2D presentation, and more.

Graphic design firms typically employ graphic designers who are skilled and handle their clients’ marketing and advertising needs. The professional field of graphic design in LA is dynamic and fast paced. Design experts try to stay on top trends in efforts to keep their work, particularly when merging it with marketing efforts, modern and cutting-edge. Some experienced individuals serve as independent graphic designers, working on a free-lance basis. However, for the medium or large scale projects, it is advisable to use the services of established graphic design firms.

Adobe Illustrator, In Design and Adobe Photoshop are some of the latest software applications used in graphic designing. We advise businesses to find graphic designers that are professionally trained in using color, the design process, working with artistic images, etc., to create competitive and attractive designs. Graphic designing is a very effective tool as far as the internet and email marketing is concerned. The artwork produced by graphic designers can be utilized for a number of promotional activities such as direct mail, advertisements, marketing brochures, and so on.

The future of talented graphic designers is very bright and one can predict that their demand will increase. Design graduates with professional software experience and digital design are especially in demand. The key skill a company looks for in a graphic designer is problem solving capability, creativity and communication skills.

For entry level jobs, bachelor’s degrees in designing are fine. However, if a graphic designer wants a higher position with more responsibility, he/she should pursue higher education degrees. The best graphic design companies employ graphic designers keeping in mind the requirements of their clients, and taking into the account the experience and skill set of the prospective designers.

Learning to use the paintbrush in Photoshop is easy. You will be creating original works of art within minutes. The Photoshop paintbrush has more uses than you might imagine. When you get good with the paintbrush you will be able to create some awesome graphics.

Photoshop has two types of paintbrushes you will be using.

Airbrush

The first type of paintbrush available in Photoshop is the airbrush. This paintbrush tool is very much like using a can of spray paint. It virtually sprays the paint onto the image or canvas. Photoshop gives the user maximum control by allowing you to adjust the diffusion or amount of pain being applied as well as the speed with which it is applied to the canvas. There are also many different brush sizes and shapes you can use.

Paintbrush

The paintbrush tool is more like using an actual paintbrush and applying paint by hand. Much like using a real paintbrush the virtual paintbrush in Photoshop applies paint in much more even distribution compared with the airbrush tool.

You will have fun experimenting with the different options available for creating digital works of art using the paintbrush in Photoshop. The best thing about it is that you don’t have to worry about mistakes as you would on a traditional canvas using real paint. This is especially true if you are working in layers. If you don’t like your results simply delete that layer and try something else.

For more great Information on Photoshop tutorials visit http://www.learnphotoshopnow.com
About the Author: Read more about this and other topics related to wordpress theme

Adobe Photoshop might actually be one of the best photo-editing software out there. It virtually covers all necessary features any digital artist would need to make great images. It also helps photographers improve the quality of their work taken by their cameras, so that they could either post them online or print out enhanced copies of your photographs, may they be wedding photography or children photography.

There is generally no hard and fast rule in learning how to use Photoshop, especially if you are one who is not accustomed to such kind of software. Although it is the best photo-editing software available, learning how to use this particular software is not only very dynamic but can be fun as well.

Explore. The #1 rule in trying to learn Adobe Photoshop is to engage freely in hands-on experience with the software. No amount of instructional books you read can ever amount to a few hours of playing with the software even if you don’t exactly know how. Try to play with any random image just to be familiar with what each of the basic features do and to what extent are such features capable of. The main reason why this is the #1 rule is that it is fun to do, especially if you’ve got lots of pictures at hand. Just don’t go around saving your work over the original images, you might not want to end up wrecking your image archives.

Search and learn. When you learn a bit about the basics, there are certain things that Photoshop is capable of that you might not know about yet, and the only way to discover what these things are is to find them on the internet or hear them from Photoshop experts. One of these would be “cloning” or “image layering”. These are things that can be done through Photoshop but usually require more than basic steps or usually require the combination of various basic features of the software. The best way to know how these things are done is to read about them or find them on the internet. There are lots of YouTube entries that demonstrate how some techniques are done in Photoshop, and they are all free for your consumption. You don’t have to pay for expert classes anymore because more often than not it’s the people who have more experience that matters.

Also, never forget that in order for you to be able to easily use Photoshop, you have to at least know the basic computer functions. Even the best photo-editing software cannot teach you how to use your computer better. Since Adobe software is Microsoft compatible, knowledge of the basic commands such as cut and paste or determining file sizes will definitely be applicable to your photo-editing activities.

Soon enough you will be producing much better output in your home photography business. Enjoy!
About the Author: Read more about this and other topics related to holiday party favors

In order to participate in a graphic designer course there are certain requirements that a person will need to meet. So before a person can actually look for a course they first need to understand what graphic design course requirements they will need to have. In this article we will take a look at the various requirements people who wish to study and earn a certificate or degree in Graphic Design will need to meet.

For entry onto a graphic design course many Universities, Colleges as well as online courses require their students to show a commitment to learning about all aspects of art and design. It is best if a student has obtained an advance understanding of everything to do with art and design which they would have to learn both through theory and practice.

But for all students whether do a basic graphic designer course or one which will lead to them obtaining a degree they need to be able to sustain high levels of research for an MA. Plus they need a mind that is not only imaginative but is open and willing to accept new ideas.

The basics of any graphic design course is to help its students to learn and understand the importance of planning and then executing any designs that they have. These designs are then used to communicate a message according to the particular wants and needs of their client.

However when looking at graphic design courses it is important that you do not get this muddled up with graphic art ones. Graphic art courses generally teach the students about the technical side of graphic matter s relating to printing or electronic pre press. Rather than actually teaching the students the things you need in order to produce a design and then execute that design.

Through out the course as part of any graphic design course requirements the students will need to learn not only technological skills, but also conceptual and formal ones as well. Parts of their course work will cover foundation art matters such as drawing, colour and how to use 3D. Whilst in other parts of the course they will learn about the history of graphic design along with some elective subjects as well.

If you are someone who is able to meet al or most of the graphic design requirements that we have mentioned above you can then start to look at the various courses that Universities and online centers have available. But be prepared if you want to obtain a professional degree in graphic design you will need to allow 4 years in order to do so.

Photoshop Black and White Photography has always been powerful and it has stood the test of time, even against its contemporary color counterpart. When working with black and white, you must incorporate a different set of rules and techniques. With the lack of color the balances of shape and contrast are made to work harder in order to convey the story or set the mood. However, once this is achieved it is striking.

Many digital cameras come equipped with a black and white mode. If yours does not, you can still achieve the black and white look through editing techniques. Photoshop has made this process possible with a vast selection of methods to convert a color photograph into what Photoshop refers to a grayscale, or to us, black and white. Most photographers would agree that it is actually easier while behind the lens to shoot in color and to convert to black and white at another step. The level in control of effects throughout the Photoshop program are much greater than what could be achieved through the actual shot.

The simplest way of changing color to black and white is to switch the mode to grayscale (Image > Mode > Grayscale). While this can work, there are other methods to use. Lets take a look at three other alternatives that will convert color to grayscale (black and white):

Method #1 – Desaturation

The first method is desaturation. This is the removal the visible color information while keeping the RGB status of the file. This would allow you to add a tint at a later point without having to change color mode again. Follow Steps: Image > Adjustments > Desaturate (or press Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + U).

One negative outcome of desaturation is potentially a flat, uninspiring ‘shell’ of the original picture. This can be improved on however by looking at the picture in parts. You can increase textures in one area by darkening the shadows and midtones, or increase contrast in another to remove haziness. To do this, take a feathered section to work with and press Ctrl/Cmd + J to copy and paste the selection to a new layer. Add a ‘Levels Adjustment Layer’ to it, combining the two layers as a clipping mask. Drag the Black and Gray point markers toward the right to bring out texture or to the left to decrease. If you see a dividing line ater making the Levels adjustment, remove by adding a layer mask to the newly made level (set to Reveal All) and paint on the mask in black until the edge disappears using a soft brush at a low opacity setting.

While a Levels adjustment layer would add contrast, a different method would be: Follow Steps: Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Curves This will add a Curves adjustment layer to the background layer. Apply the curve shown to increase midtone contrast, but at slight decrease to the highlights and shadows, however this lessens the haziness effect.

Method #2 – Single Channels

This method builds from the idea of the use of color filters from the actual photography process, by allowing the same changes in the editing phase.

Imagine a photo of the blue ocean. Going to the Layers palette, click the Channels tab and click on the Red channel. The image seen be the darkening of the blue-tinted areas the same result that a red filter over the lens would have created. For a comparison, click on the Green channel for a result similar to the Red channel but less drastic. Finally, the Blue channel, it will be lighter, since most of the image is blue. Without changing anything, you have three different ready-made black-and-white effects.

After choosing the filter effect you desire, use this keyboard shortcut sequence to make it into a new document: Ctrl/Cmd + A (selects all) Ctrl/Cmd + C (copies the selection to the clipboard) Ctrl/Cmd + N (creates a new document of the same proportions as whatever we have on the clipboard. The document will also be a grayscale as we only have one channel selected) Enter/Return (to confirm the settings. No changes are necessary) Ctrl/Cmd + V (to paste the contents of the clipboard to a new layer) You can then use Levels and Curves to fine-tune the result.

Method #3 – Calculation

Use this method if the automatic setting of the channels are not what you are looking for in order to increase the range of tones or strengthen the color effects.

Choose the channel you desire and keep it active and go to Image > Calculations. If the Red channel was active, the Red channel will appear in the Calculations dialog box. Source 1 and 2 are set to the same document, layer, and Red channel, which means they will all be combined for the calculation to take place. Set the blending drop-down to Multiply, working in the same way as the normal layer blend methods. Multiply will darken the image, but based on the red channel. As a result blue elements or elements with a blue cast will become darker than other elements. Set the Result drop-down box to New Document to create a new multichannel file based on the calculated result.

Combine Red and Green Channels to achieve a slightly less pronounced result, using the Multiply blend mode. The difference is subtle, but it shows the fine control you have in this technique.

Along with the idea of mixing and calculating channel values, another option called Channel Mixer. This allows the mixing of values of each of the channels, allowing a wide range of combinations. To do this make sure the RGB composite channel is active, and go to Image > Adjustments > Channel Mixer. Enable the Monochrome checkbox. If you change the percentage values for each of the Red, Green, and Blue channels, it will dramatically effect the image.
About the Author: Read more about this and other topics related to viral friend generator

A common task that many designers need to perform in Photoshop is the removing of a background from an image.

This is often the case with company or website logos that have a colored background – this makes it difficult to place the logo on different colored backgrounds as it generally looks poor and creates an unprofessional look.

For example, if a logo with a red background is placed on a background of yellow, then it will likely look very poor.

One solution to this is to remove the background using Photoshop transparency – this is normally a very easy task to complete and enables you to use your logo (or other image) on any type of background you like.

Follow these simple steps to remove a background from an image:

1. Open Photoshop and Load Your Image

Simply start up Photoshop and open your image via the “File > Open” menu.

2. Create A New Transparent Layer

Once your image has loaded, you need to place a transparent layer under the layer that has your image on it.

To do this, simply select the “Create a new layer” icon at the bottom of the “Layers” box in the bottom right of your screen.

This will then create a new layer that has a transparent background – you can tell that background is transparent if it is “checkered” like a chess board

Once you’ve created this layer, you must ensure that is placed under the layer with the image on.

3. Select Area of Background To Remove

You now need to use the magic wand tool to select the area of the background that needs removing.

To do this, simply click and drag the magic wand over the area of the background that you want to remove.

The selected area should have a dotted line around it so that you can easily see which area has been selected.

4. Delete Background

Once your happy with your selection, all you have to do is simply press the “delete” button on your keyboard.

This should remove the image background and in its place should be the checkered (i.e. transparent) background.

5. Save Image

You can now save the image in a number of formats, although saving in JPEG format will result in the transparency being lost.

Saving in most other formats should be absolutely fine and the transparency should be retained.
Read more about this and other topics related to butterfly marketing review

When getting a new tattoo you obviously want the best tattoo graphics, right? Well, many people make the same mistake! Rushing down to the tattoo parlor and picking any old design. I will explain the best methods to get the tattoo graphics you’ll love!

Finding tattoo designs is easy, finding tattoo designs that are stunning is something else. Hundreds of people who make tattoo art for a hobby have set up shop on the world wide web. If you have already decided on a tattoo style you like, such as a butterfly tattoo or tribal tattoo you can start searching for these terms in the search engines, remember to use quotes to make your searches more accurate.

Never rule out tattoo parlor designs, they may be overused but they are useful for inspiration or using as an outline to build your own designs. Beware of low par tattoo sites, many have mediocre designs. The better ones will have you paying out at least 15 dollars per design. Pretty steep, your better off joining a tattoo gallery. Tattoo galleries allow you to browse thousands of professional designs, giving the ability to enlarge and print ready for your tattoo artist.

Visiting an online body art gallery would be the best choice when searching for tattoo images, although there is a small fee, it’s not going to be much more than you would pay for just one tattoo from any other designer. If the worst comes to the worst and you can’t find your dream tattoo design, I’m sure they will give you a refund. Whatever method you use to find your perfect tattoo graphics, remember to always take your time and decide if that tattoo is really the one for you!

Is your spouse or sibling celebrating a special 40th or 50th birthday this year? Or are your parents celebrating a special anniversary? If you are searching for an original gift idea that’s unique, memorable, and amusing, a photo collage is the perfect gift for that special someone who already has everything.

For my husband’s 40th birthday, I decided to create a collage of pictures taken throughout our years together. I added some comical captions, laid it all out Adobe?Photoshop? and had it printed and matted at a custom frame shop. I displayed it at his party. While the guests had a chance to enjoy the picture, they took a moment to sign the mat. After the party, I had the picture custom framed, and it hangs in our bedroom. He was very surprised and he absolutely loved it. Here is how I did it:

Collect Your Photos

My husband ironically happens to be the photographer in the family. He has saved digital photographs on our computer since the year 2000. These are saved in folders by date. How fortunate for me! I was able to find some great shot of him wearing his many “hats”.

There are many ways to save and transfer photos these days. You could email them to your source, save them to aSanDisk (memory stick) or save them to a CD. I saved mine to a memory stick and saved them onto my desktop. I did locate some photos that were of the ancient 35mm variety, and I scanned these into files in my desktop PC.

Develop a Theme

This is where the fun comes in. Hopefully you can easily create a theme from your photographs. For instance, there are many photographs taken over the years of my father sleeping! This could be the theme of the collage I could make for his 70th birthday! In my husband’s case, he has many interests and hobbies (toys) and that’s where my idea of his wearing his many hats became my theme.

Create Some Captions

Here’s another opportunity for you to show off your talent and get yourself published (so to speak). I created a word file of some captions that I added to my husband’s photographs. I will share with you some of the better ones. He ran the Boston Marathon several times, and I have a photo of him running, the caption reads: “Runner: You ran many marathons and then you met me, I taught you the art of being sedentary.” Here’s another: “Mechanic: You fix many vehicles, you look so cute, With grease on your face in your tan monkey suit.” Okay, to know him is to love him, but you get the idea. You may decide not to add any text, and to simply let the picture tell the story.

Design it in Adobe?Photoshop?

I designed my collage in Adobe Photoshop. Photoshop is the industry standard image editing program. Perhaps Photoshop is already included in your tool chest of graphics applications, if not, you can easily purchase and learn the program. There are free Photoshop Tutorials all over the Internet. Refer to sketchpad.net for some excellent tutorials that will get you started.

One of Photoshop’s most powerful features is its use of layers. Each layer in a Photoshop document is a separate image, which can be edited apart from any other layer. My first layer is a photograph of my husband’s pride and joy, his 97′ GMC one ton dually diesel transporting his Kubota compact tractor. (It’s all about the toys right?) I added a nice manly brown border around this photograph. This background layer fills the entire picture. I created a new layer and added the title “Grant’s 40th”. Next, I created a new layer and dropped in the first small photograph. I continued to add all the pictures, creating new layers each time. Because these are all separate layers, I could edit each photograph, without affecting my background, easily. Once I placed the pictures in the right locations, exposing enough of the background photograph, I started to add my captions. Each caption, also has it’s own layer. For interest, I formatted some text in black and some text in white. For a few of the photos, I added a white halo effect to the outer edges.

Once I was happy with my picture, I saved my file as a “tif” file, so all of the information was saved, and the image was not compressed. I transferred this file onto my memory stick.

Print and Mat Your Finished Product

I found a local frame shop called Custom Frame Works. The frame shop has an Epson 9800 wide format printer, which prints up to 44″ wide. I wanted a good size picture for our wall, and printing my 20″ x 24″ photo, from my tif file, was no problem. It cost me $50.00. I was very happy with the excellent, crisp quality of the photo. After consulting with the owner on the right mat and frame, my image was matted. I was ready for the party!

Display Your Matted Photo for your Guests to Sign

I displayed the matted photo on a large dining room table for all of the guests to sign. Make sure to have some good quality ink pens on hand for people to sign with. He now has some great nuggets of wisdom on ageing like: “Life begins at 40.” And “40 is good.” Well, if nothing else, as he ages, the signatures can help him recall who was at his party.

Frame It

I returned to Custom Frame Works and had my signed photo collage framed. The cost of the mat and framing was about $150. The cost will vary based on your picture size, and your mat and frame selections.

With a little creativity, anyone with some basic PC and Photoshop skills can design a nice, original photo collage. Your special gift will be remembered for years to come!
Read more about this and other topics related to cms templates

There are many things that make a great photograph but one of the most important elements of a good photo is composition. Composition has to do with the placement of the subject and objects in a photograph and how these various elements interact together.

Good composition is really what sets apart really good photographers from mediocre ones. Now while there are many aspects of good composition, framing or cropping of an image is an important part.

Photoshop makes it easy to improve the composition of a photograph if you become familiar with the cropping tool. You can quickly and easily cut out parts of the photo that you don’t want or that distract from the main subject. Photoshop makes cropping as precise as you need it to be by allowing you to measure areas to be cut.

The best part about cropping using Photoshop’s cropping tool is that if you don’t like how your photo looks after it has been cropped you can simply go back to where you started and try again. You can essentially experiment with an unlimited number of possibilities.

The following are some tips for better cropping.

Consider the Rule of Thirds

If you spend much time looking at the work of professional photographers you will notice that they rarely center the subject in the picture yet amateurs almost always center their subject. By moving your subject off center you can create a much more profession and eye pleasing image. Imagine lines across your image breaking it up it thirds and then consider cropping your picture so that the subject is in one of the outer thirds. Don’t be afraid to experiment but before you do make sure you make a copy of the original image and save it in a separate folder.

Crop to Traditional Print Sizes

When cropping your pictures check the sizing to make sure they will print in a standard size such as 4×6. If they do not correspond to these sizes try cutting a little more off. Otherwise when you take them into print at the local lab the photo lab may have to crop them even more to make them print the right size.

Photoshop makes it so easy to crop your photos that you really won’t have to worry about the framing when you take the picture on your camera because you can just fix it later on your computer. Regardless of whether you use Photoshop Elements or the more advanced version, Photoshop CS, the technical aspects of using the cropping tool are essentially the same.
