@cracker2200 no but it changes velocities. in other words it not only makes it louder but it also changes the muted tone that you here if you play quietly
@xXGzArRuKXx yes he used to use the pod x3 but he now uses the line 6 pedal. my pastors son who is the guitar player at our church looked it up and went and got it. i believe it is available at guitar center.
Yeah, he really only uses the POD X3 Live as a mic’ed up amp simulation. The only effects I’ve seen him use on the PX3 are the wah for the “beatbox” technique he does and maybe a hair of delay, but that’s it. Everything else is from his Boss stompboxes.
FANTASTIC. Just saw them at NAMM 2010 in Anaheim. Talk afterwards by those who attended was of high praise. Lincoln is awesome on guitar work, but Norm is the bomb on bass. Both are great individuals to have spoken with as well.
He’s playing a midi controller keyboard. Probably 61 keys… they use the computer probably with Reason, or Main Stage to produce different sounds instead of using a keyboard with the sounds built in.
well he uses the POD X3 Live and the boss pedals too at the same time i´ve seen videos where he is using the POD an the boss blues drives… BUT don´t be discussing on what pedal he is using or those thing, you only need to know 2 things:
1) His tone is amazing
2) And most important: He is playing and singing for the Lord and he only wants to praise Him it doesn´t matter what pedals is he using he´s not praising Line 6 or Boss, he is praising God
yea. as long as we express ourselves. its all good. hahah. everyone has their own style in music so i cant blame if u like or dont like it because u have your own style and i have mine.. and btw, i use a booster on my computer speaker so i hear a bassy sound. maby thats why it sounds good on mine. but when I tried to lower the boost down i hear a really light bass sound/tone which is not really good at all.
haha no no i mean Norm’s fingerstyle tone in this video. It probably is me, I’m used to a bass tone with a big bottom end and less in the highs. But who cares what I say as long as he likes his sound right?
huh? u dont think the finger style is not that great? like the lead part? that was crazy and the sound was awesome nothings wrong with the tone. i think your just not use to it. or u just havent hear those kind of playing before. victor wooten use those tone/sound and other legend bass player.
ive been playing bass and lead guitar for about 8 years with different kind of genre. theres nothing wrong with the tone. the sound of his bass is some kind of jazz/punky. I would say those rips that he plays are crazy. have you tried slapping the bass? cuz those tone are good for slap.
It’s in B minor and I love playing this at church!!! His tone is way too trebley but that could be a combo of the recording and a bad sound man. He was pretty crazy on that solo ;0

they use it for loops and that kind of stuff

It’s an MTD J5. Norm plays an MTD 535 on his jazz albums, but they wanted more “bite” for playing with Lincoln. So MTD came up with this.

Just saying that they are one and the same scale, with a different root note. B minor obviously starts on the B and D major obviously on the D.
April 18th, 2010 @4:15 am
ahh ok.., what do u mean.. (B minor)
April 20th, 2010 @10:38 am
Key of D major (B minor).
